Commandant Welcome

Welcome to the web site of the School of Research and Informatics Officers of the Hellenic Army (SAEP).

SAEP is the executive body of the Hellenic Army General Staff for personnel’s training in computing. Informatics is considered to be kind of a power multiplier by the Armed Forces and:

• Forms an essential element of all modern armed systems
• Automates all Army operations (information collection and distribution, Command and Control System, plan testing, battle field monitoring, training, personnel and material management, etc.)
• Organizes available information and systematically methodizes control plans.

In ths way, Informatics has successfully entered the way the Army operates and, thus, appropriate technical education for complete exploitation of its output is necessary. Towards the establishment of competent personnel training, new educational structures and activities – on the field – are required. Those activities are SAEP’s main business.
