History

Research and Informatics Corps (SEP) was established in 1998 aiming at the exploitation of modern technologies in the Army, so that, through them, power multipliers, strategic advantage and possibility of dominance over the upcoming digital battle field, to be created. Towards this purpose, SEP, was manned by highly educated, in the technical field, officers.

Thus, in October 1998, SAEP was established as a Special Center of Training, as a School of Specialization and as a School of SEP application. SAEP’s training procedures aim at perfecting the combat power of the Armed and Security Forces, by fully educating its officers in computing and by constantly taking advantage of the applied sciences of administration and control, computing, operations and technological research.

SPHY, School of Computer Programmers, comes under SAEP. SPHY was established in 1982 and its mission was to train the personnel of Armed and Security Forces in computer programming and use.
